Cove would definitely be a water type trainer. Baxter would probably be a psychic/poison type trainer while Derek is definitely fighting/normal type trainer. Tammy would be bug/grass type trainer and Qiu.....would probably be a dark type trainer? (it's edgy and kinda suits Qiu I guess?) anyway that's my head canon for Our Life Pokemon AU lol
