You have to walk past the monster into the doorway.
It's impossible, it kills me, so can't proceed. But already watched the end of the chapter on youtube. Chapter 2 worked nicely.
You just have to get to that point before the monster does. I experienced this in my playthrough. If he gets to that point, you're kind of screwed.
