can't download the .rpa, chrome says the file isn't available in the website. can anyone advise how to download the android version?

This is most likely an issue with the servers on Itch, it happens time to time.
If this persists, I'd recommend using our Patreon downloads. The free version of 8.0.3 dropped (won't be on Itch for a bit) and you can grab it here: https://rift.ink/43QZB9R
