Worked for me after running "xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine" on the downloaded app file.
Had a few crashes during combat so didn't get to explore the game much, but the art brought me right into Minecraft, so it hit the UX well. I do wish resources were a bit more plentiful though, since I found myself having to dodge enemies to get enough to make even basic items.
