This is a tricky topic. To a lot of indie devs, their creation is worth a lot, especially if you spend a couple of years alone on a project.

However it’s all revolving around what your target is. If you plan to make a living out of it, then the game should have a competitive price, with other games. If however that’s something you do for fun, with no financial expectations, then you can price games based on what you think they are worth, based on your experience making them.

I’ve recently published my first paid title, and decided to put a low price, so I can familiarize myself with it, and how to best price a project. I expected people to try out the game, especially since it has a free demo, but I was wrong. I think marketing is really important if you want to make money, but in my case I’m a single dev, so I can’t afford that.
