Idea / suggestion: What if there was like a 1/20 chance that one of the corpses you come across is, in fact, NOT dead. And (given that there are minigames for healing now) you are able to save the dying survivor. If you do manage to save them, they would (basically become your companion) and follow you. You would be able to talk and trade with them, and when you lie down to rest, they would snuggle with you and you would get a better rest.

:3

Or you can watch them die and take their loot (which i would imagine would consist of a container of some sort, a couple food items, a drink and some med supplies)

I would imagine once you find a dying survivor in a run, you would not find another until your companion died (which would be sadge), or never again until the next run.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ its just a suggestion

thats a neat idea, nice

this is actually a great idea

that'd be nice but if you watch them bleed out i'd feel you get like a shit ton of trauma (enough to put you near shell shocked which is really, really not great.)

also thought that if this suggestion gets implemented into the game, then it may make creating a multiplayer version of the game a little easier... maybe

Not really, there are already NPC's and all, most of the ideas that would affect multiplayer are already included in the game, even sleeping with others and trading. So there would be some minor things, maybe some stuff with mental health and oh! healing others that is actually great but yep.

Sadly that is not how coding works, multiplayer is a different beast entirely

By the very least they could function like a trader (but you'd have very high starting rep because y'know you like saved em n stuff)

Ohhhh, but I would imagine they don't have a lot of useful stuff if they're dying... at least not directly or relating to health... which would probably mean they don't have a lot of stuff since health is like the most important thing...

Also, letting em bleed out should severely tank your morale since watching a guy die is more traumatic than seeing just their corpse

Damn someone already said this

Yep, not managing to save someone or deciding not to for some reason like self survival must be really traumatic and depressing.

You can actually already sleep with other survivors for better sleep, talk (kinda) and trade with them, I think you can even hug them if you get a good relashionship, I know this because of glitches on the survivor pods. (They don't follow you tho) (you can also build trust with them and all)

Also, watching a survivor die would probs bring your mental health WAY down, also they don't need to be dying, the could just i dunno, doing their own thing or sleeping, oh interacting with them would also bring your mental health up quicker of course.

Wait I would actually feel terrible if I didn't manage to save them.

Given the genre of this game, there will always be a reason why we won't find survivors in good condition. But dying is a big deal (you'll have a choice between spending all your medications, if you have any, to try to save them, or just passing by). It's still a depressing game, if, of course, this mechanic is implemented.
