Monster Codex: The Werewolf
Werewolves are shape-shifting creatures that typically resemble a human. On nights with a full moon, however, they become what can best be described as a wolf-human hybrid. Fur, claws, and menacing fangs are all common traits of a werewolf.
It is believed that werewolves were originally people who became beasts due to a transmissible curse, however the story behind this curse remains a mystery. However, the bite of a werewolf is certain to spread the affliction, so protect yourself with whatever means necessary.
Another werewolf hypothesis is that there are other "werekin" out there which take on the form of a different animal. There have been sightings of alternate werekin, although these creatures are yet to be documented. Perhaps werewolves are just the most common member of a larger family of beasts?
