I’m the author of City Incarnate, and I just wanted to say that it’s immensely touching to have come across this. I am still in the fledgling period of my creative pursuits, and that was doubly true when I made the CYOA in question. Making something for its own sake is gratifying and I feel happy for most of what I’ve made, but the moment my sensibilities sharpen all my old projects confront me with nagging details I would’ve done differently.

All that to say, I don’t think anything has made me feel as affirmed about my creativity as learning thirdhand that someone took time out of their day to make a TTRPG book inspired by a creative project from a wholly different moment in my life. Thank you, sincerely.

I love your details about various relics and the Not-People, the latter would make a perfect ambient detail in some Mieville story. I’ll keep an eye on anything else you do, I like your creative approach! The big question is if I can yank off the bandaid enough to have my friends play this with me; circular point though it is , I certainly wouldn’t have the confidence to ask had your interest not given it to me.

I understand what you mean about old projects not seeming to be up to snuff once you acquire new knowledge or skills. You're definitely not alone in that. Though, I am extremely overjoyed to hear my little RPG settled those thoughts a bit.

You are sincerely welcome for that! And, honestly, I should be thanking you! Something about the city of Riviere and the way you presented it, with all of its oddities, enraptured me in a way urban fantasy rarely does; I couldn't stop thinking about what I would do to endear myself to the other occultists within the city or how I could shake off the Strix without having to destroy this new setting I so loved.

So thank you for giving me the ability to play in one of your worlds a little bit!

And I do hope you enjoy all the future future whatnots and etceteras I plan to make! Said plans have kind of been derailed recently by a research project and by not purchasing Affinity V2 while it was still in the store, but soon my research will be paused for Christmas and I will be looking into Swift Publisher as an alternative desktop publishing software. Once I do that, I plan to make another 24XX module and then something longer and system-agnostic.

Moreover, if you do ever play this one, do tell me if you feel it plays well or if there's things that need be changed. I am pleased that my interest has given you confidence enough in your (already quite expert) creative skill to run a game or two!
