For me, the fun of this game comes after hitting level 30 and seeing how far I can go in endless mode. But I feel like the recent update made the hand multiplier baubles too rare so it's become impossible to go past round 36. Like I've played entire games without getting a flush or straight multiplier bauble, even after constant re-rolls – and that applies extra to the larger hand baubles like wide house. Really love the game but wish those baubles became more frequent the farther you make it through the endless mode rounds!
Thanks for the feedback! I don't think anything changed to affect the rarity of those Baubles, but I have had the same thought that I wished they were more common! Currently the way an item is generated in the shop goes like this:
If there is a Bauble of each rarity available, add that rarity to the pool of possible rarities, then generate a number between 0 and all available rarities weights combined. If it is less than the common weight, generate a random common Bauble from the list of available ones. If it is less than common weight plus uncommon, generate a random uncommon, and so on.
I've been thinking that perhaps the number of available Baubles should influence the weight, as in changing that formula to be generating a number between 0 and (common weight * available common Baubles) + (common weight * available uncommon Baubles) etc.
Since there are so many rare Baubles (one for each hand plus more) this may have the desired effect, with a bonus of being able to increase the odds of certain rarities by buying out Baubles, like once you buy the slap bracelet Bauble you'll be less likely to see uncommon Baubles.
There's downsides to this system, too, like most common Baubles can be bought many times so it may end up increasing the number of Commons found, maybe I'd have to tinker with the weights to test this system out.
There's my thoughts for now, I'd happily take any feedback on my methodology or any thoughts you've had on how you'd change it too!
Thanks again and have a great day!
Edit - oh and you can also make a custom game and change the weights of Bauble rarities in the custom game menu (special button). That might be worth tinkering around with to find a balance that you like!
