I don't see many FMV Ren'py games and despite the limitations you worked with it is actually filmed quite well and I must say I'm impressed by your attention to detail in the video compression. I also really enjoy playing games from other cultures. I'm Australian and I found this captivating from a cultural level as well. Was this a university project or a passion project?
My only criticism is an annoying bug which you could easily fix, when you go back to the game menu and resume game it skips an FMV. You could set a flag when going to the menu not to skip on return :)
