So the ultimate reason protagonist was chosen is his ability to mend Scribbles' shattering gem?
He wasn't chosen, he was never part of the plan.
I was thinking more like scribbles suspected his abilities would be useful and so invited him? If that ability is tied to his unique magic ofc, seems highly plausible.
