I am making a horror game that meant to be ready to launch on the October sale but I missed it. It is not ready and will not be for weeks.

It's probably best, though. Launching during a sale isn't that great of an idea, as everyone will be busy buying games that are on sale that they've been looking at for a while, or will just be looking for cheap games. You would have to sell at less than full value, which wouldn't be the best use of launch visibility. The main time it makes sense is on Steam where new and trending is frozen because everyone is afraid of launching during a sale.
as this is your very first game and it looks nice indeed, BUT the problem is without a lot of followers and engagement on your games your game most certainly wont be bought, not because its bad, neither its the problem of startes you have to gain a certain reach to try to sell your games and you will see its not easy even for just a dollar games wont sell, believe me i also wanted to sell my games first and I TRUELY THINK game devs should be payed for their time and love put into their projects, but thats not how our society works, anyway ive released 7 games till today and after i had a very deep conversation with my mentor who is a very experienced game dev and the first one who came to support me told me about these things and finally with deep pain in my heart i made everything free and hoped the best, and indeed a very few people donate, but best optinion for beginners is making games free gaining reach and tryint to join bundles especially those who for a chairty reason you wont get mones but a lot of reach as these sell very well, bundles are the only optinion to gain a bit of money as beginner, despite you get stroked by a bright flash of luck everything can happen, but i experienced the opposite.....anyway best wishes for your game i followed you to show my good will (following back would be awesome :) as i also need more followers ;))
best regards, love and peace <3
