I can't set the language. I'd like to set it to Italian for convenience, but as soon as I exit the settings, it reverts to English.

It's not that it reverts to English, rather only some parts of the game were translated and the rest hasn't been completed yet, everything was done by volunteers.
The problem is that all translations have been halted for the time being, so dev can focus on developing the game, they will be resumed when the game will be almost finished (might be in a year or more)
