The answer to both questions is in the same place: page 14, under the Ace of Hearts. I will retype them here for your benefit:

"Do not discard this card. Instead, set it to one side in plain view and place ten tokens on it. At the end of each day, roll a d6. On a 6, remove one token and consult LAYING A GHOST TO REST (p. 23)."

Just to ask, does that mean you need to draw the Ace of Hearts first before you can start laying ghosts to rest? What happens if its on the bottom of the deck?

Also the book says if you ever draw a dead mans hand a bad thing happens. Does that mean only during the same draw? Or if at any point all of those cards are in your discard pile?

Howdy!

1. Yep, that only starts with the Ace of Hearts. Some playthroughs go roughly. This is a highly lethal game.

2. Only if you draw the aces and 8s on the same hand. Otherwise it would basically be inevitable.
