The way I see the wife reads the protagonist like an open book and understands that this is exactly the kind of roleplay the husband wants but is too shy to initiate. The uncertainty and excitement it brings are common aspects of this fetish and the wife clearly knows that and protagonist's internal monologue constantly confirms that it indeed makes him more horny. She also constantly gives protagonist chance to stop, without any guilt tripping or conditions and he always wants to keep going with the most important motive being his own enjoyment.

However, if we're talking about how they both treat the "bull", I can agree that it's way more manipulative, but that's not just the wife, the protagonist is just as much guilty of that as she is.
