Current thoughts on the game so far

Not bad, I wouldn’t say it’s spectacular but it’s not terrible either. Scenes are very very basic and bare bones with one image and not much variation.

Characters seem to have some thought put into them, pretty simple but the game itself is simple so it fits well.

I feel as though the spawn rates on monsters while walking around in the forest is a little too high, I may have not played enough but it didn’t seem there was xp included? What is the benefit of fighting the forest monsters? I killed about four and I didn’t seem to notice anything

I enjoyed the witch content when you go in unprepared, I liked how it was  “inevitable” but it still played out a bit before giving the game over. Although I might want something of an indicator before, like a “don’t save over your current save” warning in case you don’t realize it will be a game over and you save in the witches house.

in terms of bugs I didn’t find anything huge! Just that you can clip into the wall in the hut that’s the centre point to the maps. In RPGM it’s just a quick fix of the colliders, I’ve made the same mistake before lmao

In summary, I would give it about a 3/5 could be better could be worse.

Seems fair?

Thank you for the feedback!

For the Witch, you're able to defeat her after finding all of the gold in and outside of Lily's(and the sword), finding the axe in the village, selling the sword and buying an Elemental Cloak from the shop.

Once you defeat the Witch, you will be able to loot her house which includes learning your first spell. Defeating the Witch also opens up the Fairy Den to the west of her house, which is a fletched-out story where you bring items to the Fairy to be able to serve her.

One of the items you will need to bring her will be a Mandrake Root, dropped from the Treants in the Forest. You will be able to one shot the Treants with the spell learned from the Witch. (I uploaded a complete guide to v.01 in the devlog)

There's also more content to the east of the forest, which leads to the end of v0.1 where you defeat the castle guards in the village.
I will work on fixing collisions and hopefully adding more art to the beginning characters, as when I was starting the game/those characters I was 'getting a feel' for how I wanted things to go. Later characters are more fletched out with art!

Thank you!
