The game scrolls quite well. I like how the smoke "sneaks up" on you and is not immediately obvious. The sounds are done quite well, and their rich timbre has a positive contrast and balance with the low-key drone-like subdued music. The music glitches when it loops and is not seamless though - if that could be tweaked and fixed, it would improve the overall user experience of the game. The top-down view/perspective of the game works really well, and the game seems balanced in terms of its gameplay. Nice job!
Ayy its the dude from that youtube chat, this is actually really good for your first game jam, a lot better than mine at least lol, good stuff man keep it up!
Interesting mechanics, i like the aesthetic of the game and the sound effects but would really like to see more interesting things happen. Can you also give feedback for my game?
The light mechanic and visuals are amazingly smooth! Wonderful job, I had a lot of fun :)
Well made little game!
I really like the aesthetics of this and you did very well with the sound and music choice. The game play feels kind of.. one note. There should be something to mix things up because it grows stale pretty quickly. I'd say this is a good start but feels like it needs a little something extra to have me want to beat my score. Also, noticed that sometimes tvs will spawn on top of eachother making me have to kill it twice.
Great job with the flashlight effect. I also like the enemy forms and behavior. I felt like the axe was a little disconnected from my body and sometimes the hits didn't register. Another thing that tripped me up was the collisions around the doorways. Because of the perspective of the rooms, I expected to be able to walk slightly behind the lower part of the doorways - hopefully that makes sense.
Good
- i like the tv asset.
- the enemy is pretty cool. reminds me of lost
- the font on this page is real cool
Improvement
- it'd be more be more fun if you could attack the thing attacking you. just a psychologically thing for me
- maybe add a couple more enemy types as the game gets harder
if you have throw me some feedback: https://potofpie.itch.io/trick-or-terror
I was totally thinking that too - the black smoke reminding me of the black smoke in the TV series Lost.
