I recently replayed the demo and felt that the love scenes between the protagonist and the heroine were a bit too fast and lacked any memorable moments. Was this expected?

Considering that it's just a demo right now, there are currently no scenes I would consider "love" scenes between the main character and any of the 5 main heroines. The demo also only covers days 1 through 4 and the full visual novel will cover a time span of the entire school year (from Fall to Spring) giving plenty of time for character development. If you're interested in an unfinished version with more content (act 2 for all characters and act 3 of 4 for two of them), you can check it out on the Patreon under the $15 tier or wait for the full version to come out!
Ah, I see. Which routes did you feel this way about in particular without going into spoilers. If you want to include spoilers, feel free to DM me with the Patreon DM feature. There's certainly time to flesh things out further for character you may be seeing this issue with that. Still note that all of the stories aren't completely and only Sera, Aria, and Clover have act 3's (out of 4) right now and a lot of the more emotional things occur in acts 3 and 4
