I did want to have a visually distinct glow (the transparent sphere) for objects that hide a capsule, it was supposed to glitch for a split second which would (hopefully) give it away, but couldn't get it working in time (just started with Godot a few weeks ago).

Instead, I made the glow which appears over objects with capsules stay visible for a bit longer than when it appears over the ones that have no capsule.

That turned out to not be the best solution, because you have to be head on to multiple objects when scanning them to notice that some keep their glow for a little bit longer when the scan wave hits them all at the same time.
