Definitely spooky enough for this jam. The forest is a scary place!

First of all, the visuals are gorgeous, and with a huge amount of personality. To do all this in a week is extremely impressive. (You have earned a follow from me.)

Secondly, the forest navigation system is really cool. I do not think I have ever seen it in a 2D side-scroller before.

Thirdly, the challenges are simple, but had enough variety to keep me on my toes.

A few minor issues:

1) The technique you use to fade to black is imperfect--there's a bar at the top and bottom of the screen that isn't obscured.

2) Since in any given screen you can't return the way you came, there needs to be a collision box to prevent Red Riding Hood from wandering off the visible area of the screen.

3) Duck should be S, not F. That's far more intuitive and commonly used in sidescrollers. This kept tripping me up and getting me killed.

Thank you so much, really appreciate it!

And thanks again for pointing out the issues you found. I should be able to fix all three without a problem.

As for the third point, you're absolutely right, duck should be "S", not "F". I guess I rushed that part when setting up the controls.

My pleasure.

Btw, your pixel art is amazing. Are you a professional by any chance?

I'm not a professional, but I've drawn a lot of pixel art over time. I guess it's like the old saying, you're bound to get better if you do it enough :D

Still struggling with animation though
