Why did Lana leave Sam down in the mine for a full day? Did she decide she needed a good nights sleep before she could rescue her friend from the bottom of a mineshaft? Why didn't she immediately call for help the moment she got out of the mine? Even if she got slapped with a criminal trespass charge, that's like a fine or, at most, a few weeks in jail. That *had* to have been less important than getting Sam out asap.
