The story is tragic with a poignant tone that goes with it. The scare moment was pretty great as well, with the monsters being obscured most of the time, though I do wish the action scenes are drawn out instead of just written.

On the other hand, the story itself is linear and follows the horror story structure pretty tight. I kinda wish it can have some small choices scattered around to make it more engaging as well as having Kate being more present in the story. Lorewise it's enough to piece together a backstory of the thing and the place, though some details (I guess) could maybe expanded upon (like the final house scene). The monster lore is revealed quite early I think, which undercuts the suspense a little bit, but it does allow the character certain knowledge to decide her later actions (though her choices are always situationally very limited). Some parts feel a bit too long (visiting all the houses for example) while some other parts feel a bit rushed, maybe a little edit here and there can keep the pacing more clean.
