No, you can pass after the fire, but you need to hook onto the wall to do so. We have improved the mechanics in the new versions: you need to jump onto the wall and press the jump key again to hook onto it, then choose the direction of the jump (press and hold right/left) and jump again — repeat for repeated bounces. It sounds complicated, but you have to feel it ^^   

I noticed another bug when you get downed and get a h scene after it finishes your controls get locked and you can't do anything but run forwards even after getting downed again your controls stay broken
