The short answer is NO, you can't run Unity Editor on a Chromebook.

However, if your Chromebook has an AMD64 architecture (note: NOT all Chromebooks support this), it's possible to install a desktop Linux.
In that case, if you have enough RAM and a compatible GPU, you should theoretically be able to run the Linux version of Unity Editor.

Sorry, but "cheap" is very relative, and it depends on the country or even the city you live in.

It's best to look up the Unity editor requirements:

With that, you can look for deals near you. Maybe second-hand stores if you're on a tight budget.

A powerful but older computer that isn't compatible with Windows 11 could be a good option if you install Ubuntu, for example.
