Thank you! ^^ I believe that's just how he is in Step 1. I'd like to add he can still reply in full phrase/sentence but only when he feels like it, usually he tends to react in monosyllabic expression. Much like Ferb from Phineas and Ferb and Chiikawa are the closest comparison I can say.
