The Dreamer's ability picks a character and tells you a role. If you picked a Good role, they will tell you a random Evil. If you picked an Evil, they will tell you which Evil that character is. If you picked the Wretch, they will tell you "a Cabbage".
They aren't supposed to say anything about a Cabbage unless you target the Wretch.
