Hi! Thanks for your awesome work! I have a question about the Vald setting and the wilderness procedures described in the player handbook. I am wandering how to integrate the weather shift described in the wilderness exploration procedures with the weather in Vald: should I assume the following correspondence between the seasons: dead=winter, dry=summer, wet=fall and harvest=spring, or is there something I am missing?

You’re not the first to ask! I should do a post on Vald weather. I actually tied the Vald calendar somewhat to the Hebrew calendar.

The actual weather isn’t an analog to the real world; Vald is considerably wet and humid for half the year, then dry and lifeless the other half. Dead is definitely closer to Winter, but not as cold. Dry is like Fall before it snows, but not as cold. Wet is Spring but much, much wetter. And Harvest is like late Summer.

Thanks for your answer! I would love to read on Vald weather (as I would also love reading more about Vald religions and factions) since it can influence players choices during a session. I will try to adapt the weather table in the wilderness exploration procedures using your advices, it seems that it could be easier to travel during Dead and Dry because of the less probable precipitation.
