Hi, I was wondering, after encrypting a game (old version), could this plugin(

Halva Packaging System

or

RPG Maker Cook Tool Deluxe

still able bring the save file to be transferred to the sequel game (new version with updated contents)? In case I have to redownload the entire new game and use the old game's save file.

Hello, Mikochi.

You can bring over the save file from the older game to the new one when using either of them. But you will need to use a plugin that sets a new save location (like my own plugin, which is included in RPG Maker Cook Tool Deluxe). After that, you can use whichever way to transfer it over.

Sounds great, thanks for the reply!

I was just wondering, if I use RPG Maker Cook Tool Deluxe to set a new save location, will those save files be encrypted?

Because I want the save files to be encrypted so that Players can't be easily edited, but I also want to be able to copy/transfer them to the new game and continue using them.

Cook Tool Deluxe doesn't provide encryption for save files, so you'll need to roll up your own (or an existing) plugin for that. But there is a strict cache check option that prevents tampering with the game's files, so you can prevent cheating via that way.

I am considering rolling up encryption for saves and database, if there's enough requests about it.

Thank you! I really hope that a save encryption function will be implemented in the future. This is an important feature, as hard-working games can easily be destroyed by editing the save file.

One last question, if you don't mind: I have used many other encryption tools, and almost all of them cause frequent crashes and errors in RPG Maker games. As a non-programmer, I find it almost impossible to fix these. If I buy this programme, encrypt the game and encounter errors, would you consider helping me fix them? (Assuming the game still works fine without encryption.)

Yes. I'd be happy to help.

That's great, thank you.
