Fun platformer game!

I quite enjoy the witty writing.

I've seen the assets being used before, but I love that you added a hat and a cape to the fox to make it fit the narrative, that's a pretty fun addition. On the topics of arts however, I actually don't quite enjoy it when the game uses a mix of pixel sizes, especially when it’s a bunch of different assets put together in the game. It just looks messy and distracting overall. If you have more time or improve your art skills further, I'd love to see you modify their assets you use even more to make it feel more coherent.

On the gameplay, overall I enjoyed the game. There was a few things I didn't quite like however. The first one being the bubble, which just feels slow overall. When it's active, as far as I can tell, you can't do anything to them except for popping it manually, which means a good chunk of the time playing the game is just waiting around for the bubble to get to their correct spots, which I find to not be a good game design. There were some more hiccups such as not having some quality of life features often seen in modern platformer games like coyote time or jump bufferring, or some wood platforms doesn't line up straight with the tiles so you have to jump to move off of them.

There were some sound effects I would have liked to see such as a bubble popping sound. Some dialogues also have bugs and you have to press Shift to continue the dialogues.

This game actually feels a bit weird to me, because there's definitely a lot of good polish on some parts, such as the cutscenes, but then there were other parts that could really use the extra polishes, like I mentioned above. Overall though, I still think it was enjoyable. Would love to see it you would continue developing the game :)

Thank you so much for the in depth review! Ill keep the different pixel sizes in mind! I thought about adding some sort of movement in the bubble, but didnt want to make the game too large. But youre right it is very waity so I'll see what else I can try to add to make it more fun. I did try to add the quality of life features but I didnt do that good a job. Will try to learn from some tutorials maybe. Also I did have a bubble popping sound, but just found out that it doesnt trigger with manual popping and when it does play it wasnt that loud.

Thank you for the inputs and letting me know what to improve on I appreciate it so much!
