What happened? 31.07.2025 worked great for me.  Every version after that has my computer slowing to crawl and glitching out.  I feel like it must be something with the progressive waveform feature because the songs now take forever to load and play if the play at all.  When I switch back to 31.07.2025 everything works great.

MacOS: Sequoia 15.6.1

2024 MacBook Pro m3 pro

Issue occurs on both the Apple silicon AND Intel versions of every version since progressive waveform was added.

Hello,
sorry for the issue you encounter.
I did not notice new performance issues on my devices.
Could you disable disable the waveforms to see if it is linked to it?
(In Options -> Visual -> Waveforms: uncheck "Show on play" and "Show on edition")

I've been having the same issue including the new update from 05.11.2025 for Mac as well. I have tried your suggestion of disabling the waveforms and still haven't seen any improvement. There is a pause of different lengths for songs to begin playing.

MacOS 26.1

So is this issue just never going to be addressed?  I work in the NFL and many of my colleagues were willing to switch to this program before this update totally made the app unusable in a professional setting. ..

Was hoping today's update was going to fix the same issue with songs having a delay before playing. I've tried the steps above with no change.

Is it possible to get the load feature added back to load the songs before playing? Seems that the issue as after the song is played once, there is no load song.

I even tried loading all songs through the main edit dropdown but still have the same issue.

This was a great program but is quickly becoming unusable which is really sad as I love this program and have recommended it as a solution to many other users. Please help!!!!

Sorry about this problem. I could not reproduce the issue on my devices. Maybe it is only on M1, M2 and M3 architecture, I'll have to acquire one. (or it could be to other external factors: encrypted disk, network drive...)
I'll soon update the audio engine, maybe this will fix it.
You are right, adding an option to pre-load sounds like it was before may be a reliable workaround, but it will be a bigger work.

Same for me. I have not been able to upgrade to any of the newer versions as it slows everything down:
