You must not have played much of it yet.
It's a sandboxed visual novel with a few dating sim-style elements thrown in. Elements of the story can be accessed at random, but the overall progression is basically linear.
And -oh boy- is there a lot of dialog/story (much too much for my tastes, actually; I just skip quickly through most of it). It is, in fact, one of the wordiest games I have experienced—almost as bad as Harem Hotel.
Having played a bunch of these in the last couple of years, I can say with confidence that it is, in fact, rather typical of renpy-based VN content.
