I think there should be a simple, introductory monologue at the very beginning of the game (for the first playthrough), which will give the players a brief idea of the storyline whilst keeping the atmosphere of mystery.

I have written an example which I think could work if this feature is going to be implemented.

----

[The screen starts black, words in white text will appear and fade in and out as the player proceeds to see each line of dialogue.]

Darkness.

That has been the velvet over my eyes for a very long time.

So how does the world expect me to open my eyes?

To open my eyes, into harsh fluorescent lights.

--pause--

I have no memory of my true identity. Even lesser, my name.

But Patient Zero was the last of things that were whispered to me.

Whispered during my state of nothingness, and state of sleep...

So Patient Zero is what I should go as, and leave.

--black screen fades out, game starts--

[The mentions of Patient Zero would be in red text, the rest in white.]
