I would say, it would be great if you were able to use WASD too. Also, if it could be so that you could hold W+A / Up arrow and Left arrow at the same time to move diagonally, that would be perfect. I would maybe suggest making the fighting sprite bigger too? Seemed a little small. And maybe a volume slider for the music since the first time I got into a fight, I got jumpscared quite hard lol. (unless there already is a slider and I missed it, then thats just me being stoopid)

Oh, sorry! Didn't see this reply. I wouldn't say its too repetitive. But I would say the pacing felt odd? Not in a really bad way. But for example, at the start of the game, I walked over to the guy to battle him, I lost, then I get teleported back to where I started. I get this is probably because I died and I was meant to go back there but I would say that it would be better to be defeated and then be told I was defeated and have a choice on whether to respawn, or continue. That way I know what will happen. I will know if I am going to be teleported back or I know I was defeated and I know I need to walk back and back track.
This is just what I personally think though. You made the game so its ultimately what you prefer to have. I do have one other note though, I do think the lava is too detailed? It was very bright and nearly blended with the environment. I also thought that the lava animation could be changed a little bit. It goes from one frame to the other and repeats. It feels like too big of a leap and it looks like its constantly changing into a different type of lava instead of just plain flowing lava.
For me personally, if these changes were added, it would take the game from an 8/10 game jam game to a 10/10 game jam game!
Thank you so much for your input! That is very generous of you to give me your time, I really appreciate. The game is an RPG maker from 2011 so all the assets are ones the game provided, except the devil, main character, ant, and seraphim, which I made. I would definitely love to try and explore making my own environment later on.
