Okay. So I played this game and here's my thoughts.

What I liked:

The Sprite Work - I think it's really good and reminds me a lot of the US version of Super Mario Bros. 2. You definitely know what you're doing.

I also like how the screen filter is present and looks cool while not obscuring the screen like in other games.

The Level Design - The level design feels like I'm climbing an abandoned castle and I really like as well as the color palette for it as well.

What I would improve on:

Saves - I made it to the final boss and died, but when I died, the game restart. I really wish there was some kind of quick save feature in this game.

Also, controller support would be cool, but I play with my keyboard anyways so that doesn't really matter to me. I'm just saying maybe others might want to play with a controller.

Final thoughts: Overall, this game is a cute, little game with a lot heart to it and a lot of clear passion put into it as well and I can't wait to see the full version.

Final Score - 4/5

Thank you for the review!

Yeah, this game doesn’t exactly save because it’s based around THOSE old games from the eighties which are inspired by how arcades used to get quarters from customers.

As for controller support, the engine I used to make these games isn’t exactly “controller friendly”. One of many reasons why I decided to overhaul the entire engine by moving one program to another for all games moving forward: including this one. There is a workaround if you happen to own Steam in your computer: you can bring the game into your library and translate your controller to keyboard from there. The proper bindings are in the Readme file.

I understand this might be too much of a hassle for such a short game, so I greatly appreciate you trying the game out regardless of how you did it!
