What is the difference between free and paid versions
You’ll need to copy paste to go to the link, but I’ll quote most of the page below: https://outsiderartisan.miraheze.org/wiki/Editions
I assume the paid version you mean is the Steam Edition. If so, the main thing you get compared to the Free Edition is access to all the premium outfits (and all future outfits) for $5.99, which isn’t a ton, but I think it’s priced appropriately. It’s also a good way to support the game with a one-time payment if you prefer that to Patreon.
Free Edition
The free edition of the game is available for free to the public and is the base edition of the game, featuring all “normal” content and features. Succubus Stories is primarily a free game, and the features exclusive the patron edition are mostly extras, like cheats and convenience features.
Patron Edition
The patron edition of the game receives new updates (but not patches or hotfixes) at least one week early. Additionally, new features and game systems are often released in a beta form to this edition first. For example, mod support and the hand-drawn art set both came to the patron edition first and remained exclusive to that version for some time.
In addition to early content, the patron edition also includes built-in cheats and convenience options, as well as exclusive outfits.
Steam Edition
The Steam Edition is available on Steam for $5.99. The Steam Edition differs from the other editions in the following ways:
- The Steam Edition comes with support for Steam achievements and a set of five cute avatars depicting the game’s major characters.
- All 15 previously released Patreon-exclusive outfits will be included in the Steam Edition.
- Players must unlock the non-premium outfits in the same way as they are unlocked in the Free Edition, but premium outfits are unlocked from the start.
- The existing built-in cheats and “convenience features,” like being able to shut off certain types of emergencies, will remain exclusive to the Patron Edition.
- The Patron Edition will continue to generally receive major updates about one week early, though the pace of updates will be slow going forward.
- The Steam Edition will receive all future Patreon-exclusive content and outfits at no additional charge.
- Compared to the Free Edition, the Steam Edition comes with Steam integrations like achievements, and access to all 15 premium outfits (plus all future premium outfits).
