Same. Once I unlocked runes I was no longer able to access the original skill tree.

I'm on a tablet. There is no mode other than fullscreen. Trying to exit fullscreen puts me back on the play button.
oof. i dont think there is a way then. itch is kinda an ass about it sometimes.
