There doesn't seem to have been any new development since early 2022...

Unfortunately, yes, the game is no longer under development. It should provide a few hours of gameplay in it's current state and I might still provide bug fixes to critical bugs. As of now there won't be any new features though.
I have simply moved on to experiment with other projects since Avani didn't quite turned out how I hoped it to be. I have learned a lot developing it, but it's not the game I wanted to develop and frankly it didn't get much attention for the amount of effort I did spent on it.
