just played through this demo with my fiance, it was absolutely stellar and super fun to read through! (as expected of a Carrot story)

my current theory: marshall is a werewolf, or will become a werewolf, or some creature adjacent to that. he acts so animalistic, and gets compared to a werewolf more than once. ramona having this prophetic rhyme to spout off definitely hints at the history of these mysterious woods (and their family? i'm curious to meet the grandpa, too.) my fiance thinks grandma will be first to die.
other observations:
- berek and ze have some serious beef that will definitely come into play.
- berek can't hire gum for their games company because...?? i'm sensing a class/monetary difference between berek and the rest of them
- cordy and gum are adorable, but i was shocked at the revelation that cordy has two kids(?), unless the situation gets clarified further. very curious, since that (usually) implies a partner alongside those kids, but there's such strong romantic tension between him and gum! could be a reason why they haven't gotten together prior to this.
- ze feels a little bit like the lovechild of genzou and orlam's personalities, lol (i'm looking forward to learning more about him!)
- holy shit, the cinematic visuals have been upgraded even more from your previous work. every scene is full of personality and liveliness (or horror and tension and calm when appropriate!) the music choices are a great match for your storytelling, too.
- when the characters talk around their histories together without explicitly saying what happened, it's perfectly natural dialogue and also makes me want to tear my hair out because I WANT TO KNOWWWWW WHAT HAPPENEDDDD
whenever the questions and answers arcs drop, i will be SAT. thank you for sharing your work with the world, Carrot! i will always be a fan
