If an Oracle lies, both characters in its info are Good. If an Empress lies, all characters in its info are Good. If a Bishop lies, all characters in its info are Villagers. Some characters (including all three mentioned above) give extra technical information if you right-click on them.
Characters like Medium and Gemcrafter won't point to themselves unless there is no other option. If they're pointing to themselves, they're most likely lying.
