That was cool! A jazzy maze platformer; reminded me a lot of Sonic CD. I especially like how readable the art is, it makes parsing the levels quite easy. The song makes me feel like I gotta get a move on, and the levels were (mostly) fair and balanced, taking on novel characteristics with each downgrade.
I'll avoid reiterating issues other commenters noticed, except for the consistent few seconds of game freeze every time I carded a bird for the first time in a level. That was really strange!
This might just be a skill issue on my part, but I don't see much downside to the Speed Up perk. I could just be too experienced with slippy-fast platforming, but even the prospect of getting hit or slipping off platforms was outweighed heavily by the extremely reduced time to make corrections at such high speed, paired with the ability to soar over entire stages in a single bound.
The difficulty curve becomes quite flat after all coins are reached; the time reduction is so minimal, it poses little increase in challenge. In an endless arcade-style game, especially in a game jam context, it's important for the difficulty to meaningfully increase in short bursts of time, otherwise players will reach a skill level where the question isn't "How much can I beat before it becomes too difficult?" but instead "How much can I beat before I get bored?" I was beginning to reach that point, but got softlocked first.
Speaking of; my two runs ended on two softlocks... I think. I could've just missed something. First, I think this jump in the pit level is literally impossible at low speed.
Second, I don't think I can get this coin in the cage without my attack.
All-in-all, great work! That was really fun!
