I think this is a step in the right direction, but could you implement a system for age-confirmation, since asking for a separate adult-only site is out of the question? Currently it’s just pressing a single button “confirming” the user is over 18. They don’t even need to have an account/be signed in. No offense, but that’s a pretty lousy security measure. Could it instead be: The user MUST have an account, with at least some sort of age verification.

don't card people. I'm an adult, but I'm both camera shy and not okay with giving online websites my birthday.

keep it as is where people can lie about their birthdays (any sane person lies about their birthday when a website asks for it)

the point being itch should remain a non-intrusive site and not become intrusive in the way that many fascist sites like steam/facebook/twitter/etc are... because that's what makes it great!

I’m sure a bunch of 12 year olds that are gonna have their brains screwed the hell up because of all this adult shit would agree with you.

This site is available to everyone, kids included. I don’t care about the adults, they can do whatever they like, but kids can be seriously affected by this stuff. I don’t have a good answer to blocking this stuff from minors except to add a boatload of personal info to accounts, and nobody wants that. But having an account be a requirement will at least block a few kids, and that’s good enough for me.
