spamming "how are you" is the fastest way. giving them items also works, like manually feeding and washing them. gift items are specifically for this purpose, the things like "trinkets."
they'll also gain it over time if they are prisoners, based off of the keeper/ warden's level and/ or stats, and if they have the warden boosting trait.
