you have to get a bouquet from java in apprentice stage, give to it to the person you want to mate, then buy a diamond and give it to the person. although it takes like super long until you get the option to have kits.
make sure you max out your friendship before the bouqet and your relationship efore the diamond! Not sure about the others but Dusk's favorite kind of gift is prey (not fox), and I think Ridge's is a Crocus! Each one is 4 in total and can take some time
