Okay...
To get rid of him permanently you can delete the Clippy folder you downloaded.
To make him disappear for a little bit click on him and do the "close" keyboard shortcut (alt+F4 or CMD+Q)...

control + shift + escape, type "clippy" in the search box at the top, find clippy_desktop.exe in background processes, select it, click end task
