I have updated the game with a fix that might potentially fix the issue. Maybe you could try again and let me know if it helps!
It didn't work sadly... Its a good game, don't get me wrong, I think its a problem with the interactive sprites.
Are you running it through the itch.io app by any chance? Serenitrove currently only supports browser play and won’t work if downloaded through the app.
