what a fantastic factory-type game! i love this type of game and i played it right through to the end, unlocking all of the archive entries. i really liked your use of the shapes to create some pretty visuals, and the mechanics were combined in a thoughtful way to create some really interesting and engaging complexity! also, it felt very fitting for the theme, having to manage the limited space to build for production then wipe it away to salvage the nodes you were building on.

here's some bits of feedback:

  • i would have loved to see some kind of fanfare/ending upon salvaging all the nodes! it took me an hour and a bit to complete the game and it felt a bit anti-climactic, though it was very satisfying having all the nodes marked as recovered
  • the producers seemed pretty underpowered compared to generators, it seems like the speed was capped at 1.2x no matter how much you upgraded it so it was much slower to create the pentagons than the circles. i think being able to choose how upgrades affect the programs would have been nice, sometimes i wanted speed not capacity, sometimes the other way round. in general the late game felt like a bit of a slow down, it would have been nice to have some later-game upgrades to speed up the last few sections
  • it felt like there wasn't really an incentive to build systems inside the servers, but rather to have all your producers be on the top level and propagate the output down manually. i think some automation of server input/output could have led to some nice strategy of building producer systems inside servers and having them propagate the output up and out, to be used for some other building
  • i like the use of keyboard-driven controls but it would have been really neat if the whole game was able to be played just from the keyboard, i found switching back and forth between mouse and keyboard to get things done a bit inconvenient

overall this was absolutely one of my fav entries i played so far, i really enjoyed it!!! great work!!

Thank you for loving the game as much as you did. Also thanks for the feedback. I will say I was panning on adding 'fanfare', but I scrapped it due to time smh.

The issue with the Producer is weird, since it definitely does speed up for me. Your comment on 'being able to choose upgrades' does make me suspect I didn't make it clear enough which Advanced Unit buffs which modifier, which is my bad. The triple pentagon increase speed, while the quadruple circle increases capacity.
