  • Graphics :
    • Generally quite good, although some spots could do with a touch-up like the vending machine or compost grinder.
  • Music / Sfx :
    • Music : Great choice on the lo-fi and metal songs, well worth the probable copyright claim.
    • SFX : Generally fine
  • GUI :
    • Generally Fine but needs graphical options (Res, Window Type, etc.)
  • Gameplay :
    • It's Viscera Cleanup Detail.
    • The goreticulture aspect , especially hybridizing seems is a bit finicky? I tried to hybridize and failed terribly.
  • Notes :
    • I didn't play all that much , but despite that I think I have a good idea of how this game is and will play.
    • I liked VCUD and I like that this is adding some more complexity to it (or ease , if you use the plants correctly)
    • I'd like to see more plants.
    • Something VCUD had was players could be killed as there were hazards in the levels (or by your 'friends').
      • I don't think this game should be afraid of doing this either.
      • One potential hazard could be a mislabeled seed 1-5% chance from the vending machine (Think of mushrooms, Death Caps and Paddy Straws , you could have a more 'invasive' species of plant that tries to drink your blood or even spreads automatically so you'll need to use the shears to cull it.)
    • I'd really like to see this get MP in the full-release, part of VCUD's appeal was being able to faff around with friends.
    • Plants once they've drained an area of blood, die extremely quickly, maybe add a grace period before they do so , so you can quickly compost or gather seeds?
    • I'd personally like to see the tutorial book have more traditional manuscript artwork for each plant / anatomy.
    • The tutorial book should probably be somewhere in the levels in case the player forgets what plants do what and how to care for them.
    • There's a startup issue I had, it froze my computer / stream for a little bit and made my GPU spool (sounded like it maxed out usage) , maybe there's an issue with loading everything at once on startup?
    • I like that there's a kind of VCUD "office" level select, I'd like to see that expanded upon for in a full-release.
    • I had to re-write this review as I lost the original, so I might edit in more later as I'm going off (bad) memory of what I originally wrote.

Overall I greatly enjoy what I see here despite my short playtime. I'd like to check out future updates and I hope that adding MP is viable as I'd certainly like to play this like I did with VCUD with friends as it makes it more fun and helps move things along.

I saw that message about the lost review on discord, very irritating of itch to not warn! Thank you for playing! I’m going to iterate on everything at least a few more times so this is really helpful feedback. Multiplayer is the plan after some more refactoring, a lot of systems in the playest build are just good enough to be mostly functional 😆 and thank you for the timestamp link!

ALSO you shouldn’t have any copyright issues, if you do let me know! All the music was purchased from Ovani who uses royalty free licenses
