- Graphics :
- Varies in quality quite a bit
- I like the pottery artwork background , it's very fitting. (The scrolling of it might want to be toggle-able however.)
- Some unit graphics are fine/charming and remind me of old flash games (Odysseus) while others like the lycanthrope could really do with a rework/touch-up.
- The 'battle-maps' are very simplistic with just colours representing water or mountains but I like this rather minimalist approach.
- Music / Sfx:
- There needs to be more variety here for music.
- SFX : VERY lackluster, nearly nothing has SFX.
- Units attacking just sound like they're just very lightly slapping eachother.
- GUI :
- There was some weird issues here or there, especially near the end of my stream.
- Can be a bit busy, some things might want to be reduced or refined , e.g. the "New Odyssey" screen.
- Gameplay :
- It's HOMM.
- Some aspects are rather confusing , even with the Owl help button (Encyclopedia)
- Redo/Undo button is greatly appreciated.
- The rewards on the courses are VERY samey and there's no reason to fight a stronger enemy when the payout is nearly the same.
- Getting good units and enough of them to be relevant feels like a challenge. (Especially for some of the costs)
- Hiring one or two units at a time feels a bit lame , especially with certain units being the same cost as another but potentially being 'useless' in comparison.
- Notes :
- I think you have something decent here but it needs some fine-tuning / refinement.
- It looks like there are a LOT of mechanics (or potential ones) [Both a good and a bad thing]
- There's a wide variety of spells , but some seem rather lackluster compared to others.
- The variety of units is astounding, the player will never want for a larger variety.
- The amount of denari you get vs how much things costs feels like it needs tweaking.
Overall I did somewhat enjoy this game, but I do think it needs some fine tuning to be truly fun.
