Arrival: This has a nice feel-good opening cinematic sound to it. I love that harmony of the walk down chord progression leading into the final cadence!
Crash Landing: This is a fun short little clip. This is quite creative to include, certainly adding to your story when it could have easily been overlooked.
Going Around Town: This is a very nice town theme. It feels upbeat, but also you use several minor chords and some interesting modal motion (the first two chords give a Lydian flavor) which help brighten and dampen the mood to create an interesting atmosphere.
Inside the Convenience Store: I like the use of bossa nova rhythm and style for the store theme - very classic use of this style!
Slushee Attack: This is a creative way to introduce conflict and light-hearted “battle” music into this fun album.
At the Arcade: I really like the instrument you used playing the main melody. I’m curious what you used to get that sound?
PacBlast: I think this is a creative take on a classic sound. It’s funny because the classic Pacman soundtrack is so short, I think the entirety of it is used in this track except maybe the death sound effect(?). Maybe I need to brush up on classic video game soundtrack history!
Crop Circles: The slow swing and use of guitar gives a rural farm-like feel which sets this scene nicely. This track also helps emphasize the night theme to match it with the jam theme.
Stargazing: Using piano with high-register plucky melodies over a low reverby sound is a definite way to create a space-like sound. This is quite beautiful!
Fight the Man: I am very impressed with how many different types of tracks you were able to include in this submission. You have cozy, quirky, fun, beautiful, arcade, and now a boss battle. Nice work with the higher energy on this one.
Departure: This is a very nice way to sum up this fun and rich story. Overall, you have a clear style that you were able to stick with well (I think your description of being similar to Earthbound resonates with me) despite having several different types of tracks, with no two sounding similar. I appreciate the jovial nature of this music and had a lot of fun listening. Good work and thank you for sharing!
