I love love love this game! It's so cute and I really feel like I can be fully creative, a feeling I've missed. I'm definitely sharing this with my friends and purchasing a full game if and when we get that!
I noticed a couple things I would love to see improved in the final game, but all in all if these weren't ever changed I would still get the game, I loved it. For one, the left and right panels for the mermaid skirt are missing "back" and "front." It just has two "left" and two "right," making it really difficult if you want to do alternating colors on different panels. The other skirts I tried differentiated, but that one didn't.
I would love a zoom feature in the sewing and the dress form/pinning. I have a pretty small laptop, but there were times when I was squinting.
During the design portion, I really wished I could also see and design the back of the dress. I found myself unsure of color and fabric choice for the back panel on most of my dresses because I didn't get the chance to see how that interacted with the rest of the dress in that first sketch. I also wish I could pull the little "sample" fabrics for any of the fabrics in the store, not just the ones I've bought, in order to see how different colors look together before purchasing the fabric.
The sewing was fun to learn at first, but I eventually got pretty impatient with it just because I wanted to get to the designing and creative parts again. I feel like this could be fixed with earning a few achievements throughout the game that allow the sewing to have its moment at the beginning but give tools to make it easier as you go, like a "seam ripper" so you don't have to go to the beginning of the panel when you mess up, or something that helps you follow those hard curved lines without going super slow. Also in the sewing, the little gloved hand never really worked out for me or moved how it was supposed to. It just glitched back and forth almost the whole time, rarely grabbing onto the fabric and mostly just being super distracting.
I also eventually got impatient with having to rotate every single pattern piece 90 degrees. I wish there were a quick "rotate 90" button I could push instead, or each piece was already lined up with the grain. I would still want to be able to additionally rotate it by hand, but taking out that tedious initial turn that every single pattern piece needed would save time.
This next one I know has already been said in several other comments, but I want more accessories so bad! we got lots of new fabrics with each new commission, but no new accessories. I would love love love to even have hats, jewelry and gloves in accessories! Although I know this isn't quite the same as just decorating the dress. But other than that, I found myself nearly the entire time wishing for more colors, resizing options, sashes, new kinds of buttons, scarves and drapes, ribbon, beads, glitter, and embroidered hems.
I loved so much that this game didn't make you stress about money. You could always do everything you wanted with the coins you had already been given. I do not want that to change. But by the end I had thousands of coins just sitting there and I almost wished there were more things I could spend my money on, like decorations for the shop, or even a "personal dress" not for a commission. Just an option inside the game where you could select to work on a dress just for you. You wouldn't get paid for that so it would give you motivation to do commissions and choose how to spend your money. (I know we got the ability to make whatever dress we wanted at the end of the prototype, I had a ton of fun with that, but I don't want that to go away in a final version of the game!)
Something else I would love to see that's kind of random is just being able to interact with more things in the shop other than just the bell. I wanted the spoon to be able to stir the tea and I wanted more than anything to be able to interact with that adorable cat. Just little Easter eggs throughout the game that make you want to click on everything.
Other than that there were just a couple really minor glitches that might have just been from my end where sometimes the scissors wouldn't let me cut and I had to go out and then back in to the cutting page to get them to work, or I would try to turn the dress form and it removed one of the panels I'd placed instead. I think there were a few others but I don't remember them.
Wow, this got really long. Really this game made me so so happy, I felt like a child showing their parents their beloved art project, just grinning and jumping up and down. This is probably my new favorite game. If we don't get the full game I'll probably cry. THANK YOU for making this, I really needed this moment of calm creativity. Please move forward with the game!
